Our Story
Transforming local lives through the power of philanthropy
United Way of Charlotte County brings together local agencies, corporations, donors, volunteers, and government to create lasting social change. Our work and our investments stay right here, supporting thousands of people every year. We strategically invest in, partner with, and mobilize local community partners to solve the most complex social issues.
Our Work
THE ISSUE
Every day, families in Charlotte County face barriers that make it difficult to thrive. From the rising cost of housing, child care, and health care to challenges in education, employment, and transportation, too many of our neighbors—especially ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households—struggle to make ends meet. These challenges are interconnected and impact the overall health and resilience of our community.
THE RESPONSE
At United Way Charlotte County, we mobilize the power of our community so that all can thrive. By listening, convening, and collaborating with partners, we create strategies that reflect real community needs and drive equitable outcomes.
We fund, manage, and run programs like VITA, United at Work, Ageless United, Women United, Reading Buddies, and United 4 Youth, while also investing in nonprofit partners that deliver measurable impact. Together, we are building a network of support that responds to immediate needs and creates lasting change for generations to come.
