Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
Parent Advisory Council – Powered by Lived Experience

Part of the Family Empowerment Initiative

What is PAC?
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) gives parents a seat at the table. Through lived experience, PAC members offer real-world insights to help United Way Charlotte County design programs that truly meet family needs.

This group is more than advisory — it’s transformational. Parents shape decisions, influence change, and build a stronger Charlotte County from the ground up.

Led by Community Champion Liz
PAC is led by Liz, a passionate community advocate, 2020 UWCC Woman of Courage, and former UWCC board member. She brings over five years of hands-on experience working with Charlotte County families and has completed Harwood training through The Patterson Foundation.

Her mission? To elevate family voices and inspire systems change.

 Supported by UWCC Team Leaders

Angie Matthiessen, Executive Director and Stephanie Lucy, Program & Grants Manager
(Supported by grants from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation & Community Foundation of Sarasota County)

These leaders ensure key decision-makers and community stakeholders hear PAC members.

Why It Matters
PAC ensures that parents facing real challenges — from housing insecurity to access to childcare — are included in the conversations that impact them most.  Because no program should be built without the people it serves.
